I told a fib in my Gifted Algebra II class.
I told 11 classmates I was doing an experiment for a school project. I told them I needed answers to 2 questions on a slip of paper.
- If you could have anything in the world, what would it be?
- If you could know the answer to any question, what would the question be?
This week I found those slips of paper in a drawer.
Results are in…
- Hapiness (6/11); To be a pro baseball player (2/11); Not to be a bum (1/11); Faith (1/11); I don’t know (1/11)
- Why am I here? / What happens after I die? / Where did I come from? (8/11); I don’t know (2/11); Does $$ make you happy? (1/11)
Immature high schoolers or not, I think most got the point.
It’s funny what people say when their anonymity is preserved.
“Almost everything – all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure – these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important.”
-Steve Jobs, Stanford University (June 2005)
